Lucozade supports Guyanese International Football Player’s Community Program

Young athletes and coaches of the Vurlon Mill's Academy Summer Outreach Program

Lucozade Guyana partnered with Guyanese International football player Vurlon Mills to launch his academy’s Youth Football Outreach Program, which targets children in vulnerable communities.

Boys and girls representing communities such as Albouystown, West Ruimvedlt and East Ruimveldt got the opportunity to learn football skills and showcase what they learned by competing against each other as teams from each community for three (3) days at the GFC Ground on the 13th -15th August.

Vurlon Mills is one of Guyana’s most accomplished football athletes. He is a striker for the Western Australian Tigers and has played for local and international teams in the last ten (10) years. Mill’s passion for the game’s development in Guyana propelled him to establish the Vurlon Mills Football Academy to foster talents among young aspiring football players so that they can secure opportunities for themselves in the future as he has.

Partnerships with local companies and brands like Lucozade have made it easier for Mills to provide his budding athletes with essential gear, among other types of support. At least seventy (70) children have benefited from this program.
