ANSA McAL this week hosted its Growing with Guyana Networking Cocktail and Business Showcase, convening His Excellency Dr. Mohamed Irfaan Ali, President of the Cooperative Republic of Guyana, alongside senior government officials, business leaders, partners, and colleagues for an evening of strategic dialogue and collaboration.

Group Chief Executive Officer, Anthony Sabga III, emphasized ANSA McAL’s enduring presence in Guyana for more than 30 years. “Growing with Guyana is not about expansion for expansion’s sake. It is about partnership, shared progress, and long-term commitment to the people and communities of Guyana,” he stated.
The event spotlighted ANSA McAL’s strategic narrative of Growing with Guyana, positioning the Group as a trusted partner in Guyana’s Vision 2040. Key highlights included:
- The Anthony N. Sabga Awards – Frances Bain-Cumberbatch, Group Head of Legal and Corporate Secretary, underscored the Awards as a powerful expression of ANSA McAL’s commitment to social development. Since 2005, the Awards have recognized 71 outstanding Caribbean professionals, investing TT$34 million to support their work. Guyana has proudly produced 16 laureates, and next month Georgetown will host the 2026 Awards ceremony, honoring one of Guyana’s own.
- Community Impact – Bain-Cumberbatch highlighted initiatives from 2025 including sponsorship of the Parkside Steel Orchestra and Pan on the Wall cultural showcase, road safety partnerships along the Essequibo Coast, and support for the Empower Guyana: Center for Equity and Innovation.
- National Call for Social Investment Proposals – Melanie Richards, Head of Sustainability and Social Investment, announced the launch of The ANSA McAL Foundation’s national Call for Social Investment Proposals. Registered civil society organisations across Guyana are invited to submit programmes focused on education (STEM, TVET, entrepreneurship) and community-based youth development. ANSA McAL will invest GYD $20 million (US $100,000) across two selected partners, coupled with a one-day NGO Capacity Building Workshop to strengthen civil society’s ability to deliver measurable impact.
- Subsidiary Showcase – Guests explored mini expo-style booths hosted by ANSA McAL’s subsidiaries; ANSA McAL Distribution Inc, ANSA Motors Guyana, ANSA Building Solutions Guyana, Guyana Breweries, and ANSA McAL Real Estate, gaining firsthand insight into the impact of each business on Guyana’s economy and communities.
Guests were also invited to view a short film showcasing ANSA McAL’s presence in Guyana and its commitment to building enduring partnerships. “Guyana is defined not only by economic momentum, but by resilience, talent, and ambition,” the Group CEO, Anthony Sabga III noted. “That is why our investments go beyond infrastructure and operations. We invest in people. We invest in leadership.
And we invest in relationships that stand the test of time.” The Growing with Guyana event reaffirmed ANSA McAL’s role as a respected Group delivering mutual, demonstrable benefits to communities, government, and business.
Differentiated by its authentic Caribbean identity, disciplined governance, and flagship social investments, ANSA McAL continues to stand as a partner for national growth in Guyana.
